Multiple author events are on Forsyth County Public Library's Horizon

The authors are coming! The authors are coming! Check out these upcoming events featuring authors of local, regional, and national acclaim.

Local Author Book Fair
Saturday, May 30 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Forsyth County Central Library

More than a dozen local authors who specialize in books geared toward young adults and adults will be selling their books. Come and meet the authors, purchase books, and enjoy refreshments. Complete this form if you'd like to apply to be a featured author at the Local Author Book Fair. Applications are due Tuesday, May 5.

Keep NC Weird with Liz Z Pardue
Wednesday, June 3 from 6-7 p.m.
Forsyth County Central Library

Keep NC Weird is a one-hour journey through the strangest history, most eccentric characters, and darkest folklore of the Old North State. Join storyteller Liz Z Pardue for a lively exploration of the bizarre, macabre, and delightfully peculiar stories that make North Carolina unforgettable.

Pardue is an award-winning storyteller, writer, and director from North Carolina where she has spent almost 40 years collecting and sharing Southern history through its lore. In 2023, Pardue founded Sisterhood of Spirits, LLC, operating ghost tours and spooky historical theatrical productions from Fuquay-Varina—the most haunted small town in the South.

Westward Women Book Talk with Debut Author Alice Martin
Saturday, June 6 from 2-3:30 p.m.
Lewisville Branch Library
Critically acclaimed author and Winston-Salem’s own Alice Martin will discuss Westward Women, which has been praised as a "hypnotic" dystopian debut novel likened to Margaret Atwood and Emma Cline. Bookmarks will be selling copies of the book on-site, and Alice will sign/personalize copies and be available for photographs after the event.

Martin holds a doctorate in literature from Rutgers University. She is an assistant professor of English Studies at Western Carolina University, where she teaches fiction writing and American literature. She lives outside of Asheville, North Carolina with her husband, her son, and too many typewriters. Westward Women is her debut novel.
